David R. Becker AWS, TWSA, LPAPA is an award-winning watercolorist, illustrator, author, and instructor whose vibrant landscapes and expressive urban scenes have made him a respected name in contemporary watercolor painting. With a career spanning more than four decades, Becker has built a reputation for his bold brushwork, confident use of color, and ability to capture atmosphere with remarkable clarity and emotion.

Becker began his artistic journey at a young age, later formalizing his training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. His career took shape across multiple creative disciplines; graphic design, illustration, and fine art, giving him a uniquely versatile approach to watercolor.

Whether painting outdoors on location or refining compositions in the studio, Becker’s work reflects his passion for observation, his eye for storytelling, and his belief that every painting holds a moment worth remembering.

Over the years, his work has been featured in national exhibitions, publications, and private collections, and he has received numerous awards for both painting and instruction.

In addition to his studio practice, Becker is widely known for his dedication to teaching.
